If you work in civil society, you have probably noticed something: technology moves fast, and keeping up feels impossible when your priority is the mission you are working towards.

You are not alone. Across the sector, NGO teams are asking the same questions. Is it safe to use AI for this grant application? How do we know if a new tool aligns with our values? What should our organisation's policy actually say?

These are the questions we set out to answer when we launched the AI Literacy Lab, a project of Tecer designed specifically for civil society organisations. Through tailored training, practical advice, and ongoing support, we help nonprofits make informed choices about technology without sacrificing their principles.

Why this newsletter?

Every workshop we run surfaces questions that deserve wider answers. Every conversation reveals concerns shared across the sector. This newsletter is our way of extending that support beyond individual organisations and building a community of practice.

Each month, we will answer questions submitted the community, share new resources and guides, and highlight what we are learning from our work with organisations like yours.
